>> Over 200 people trained so far since 2008 <<

The original Bat Licence Training Course run by two of the UK's most experienced bat work trainers - Dr Sandie Sowler and Richard Crompton. Running since 2008, the course continues its pattern of small class sizes and rotates between at least nine different locations every year, with participants almost guaranteed to meet a range of species including horseshoe bats during the course (we think you shouldn't hold a English or Welsh licence without experience of this important - often neglected - group of bats.

Due to pre-requisite requirements (after all this is advanced, professional level training - you wouldn't expect us to invite just anyone to turn up..?) we review applications before awarding places on the course. See the BLTC page, or contact us for a course brochure and booking form. *** NOTE: changes to the licensing application process in England and Wales (from September 2018) indicate that additional logged experience in the use of endoscopes and hand nets will be needed. For handling and catching techniques (all methods) this experience will need to take place over at least two survey seasons. ***

For further information or to make a booking enquiry please contact Richard Crompton via Richard@EcologyOD.co.uk.
